What I Offer
What To Expect At CCA
All new clients have an initial consultation to assess their needs and discuss their goals for counselling. This is an opportunity for us to meet and decide if you are happy to proceed with counselling.
At this consultation an assessment of your current needs and difficulties is made which helps you to consider the goals of counselling. You will be asked to sign a contract that sets out the expectations/boundaries of the counselling relationship/process. This is a collaborative process that helps to build a healthy relationship and safe space where counselling can happen.
Integrity is essential to the counselling process . If it seems that your needs may be better met by another agency or service then this will be discussed with you in an honest and open manner.
Timing and motivation is also crucial. If it seems that you may not yet be ready for counselling, this will be discussed with you at the initial consultation. Your progress will be reviewed after approximately every six sessions. Together we will agree on when it would be appropriate to end counselling.
The counselling office offers a safe and comfortable place for us to meet. The office is very close to the town centre of Ayr with parking nearby off Barns Crescent and in Wellington Square. There is on-street parking outside our office which is restricted to one hour during the day.
